Children and Families Worker
Morningside Parish Church seeks to appoint a Full-time Children and Families Worker to assist with and develop existing and new initiatives in relation to –
- Developing a Christian Education strategy in response to the varied needs of children and young people in the congregation and parish including
- Co-ordination and hands-on participation in the provision of Christian education to children and young people
- Visiting, befriending and seeking views of young families
- Co-ordination of the provision of crèche facilities
- Being involved with a well established Baby & Toddler group
- Identifying short-term programmes of relevance and interest to children and young people
- Liaising with existing youth organizations
- Participating in Sunday worship and congregational events
- Opportunity to be involved in developing adult Christian education programmes
- Involvement with the local Primary School chaplaincy team
- working with Minister and Pastoral Assistant
Applicants should have –
- An active Christian commitment
- Professional qualifications/experience in relevant disciplines e.g. divinity/social work /education
- An enthusiastic and empathetic approach
- A willingness to be a team player
- Good communication skills
This is a 3-year appointment and it is anticipated that the salary will be in the range £24,630- £27,843
