Harvest Sunday Foodbank Collection, 10.30am 24th September
Harvest collection: At our Harvest Service on 24th September we will be collecting donations for the SE Edinburgh Foodbank based at Southhouse Broadway. In the last year, there has been a marked increase in the number of people being referred for emergency food parcels, to the extent that donations are no longer keeping up with demand. This makes this year’s Harvest Collection even more necessary as stocks are in urgent need of replenishing. Donations of non-perishable foodstuffs and toiletries can be made at the Braid Hall immediately preceding the 10.30am Service. This year the Foodbank would especially welcome donations of tinned meat, fruit and custard, jars of pasta sauce, jam, mayonnaise and tomato ketchup, UHT semi-skimmed milk, crisps, biscuits, chocolate and toiletries. Donations of re-usable plastic bags would also be welcome. If you would prefer to make a financial donation, you can do so online at https://blythswood.org/donate-to-foodbank or you can hand in cash to the Foodbank at 47 Southhouse Broadway, 10am-1.30pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
