2021 Autumn Lectures – Church and Society – Moving Forward? Watch the Live-stream here.

This year the Autumn lectures, organised by Morningside, Greenbank, and Fairmilehead Parish Churches, will follow the theme: Church and Society – Moving Forward? The lectures will be at 7pm. The lectures will be available to watch online: on 5th and 26th September they will be available through a link on this website, and the lectures on 12th and 19th September will be available through a link on the Greenbank Parish Church website.

5th September (in Morningside Parish Church) Very Revd Dr John Chalmers, former Moderator and Principal Clerk, and convener of the Assembly Trustees, will talk about the shape of the Church to come in a time of transition.  Watch the Livestream of the event here. 

12th September (in Greenbank Parish Church) Revd Liz Henderson, is Minister of Richmond Craigmillar, and will talk about lessons learned from the pandemic and how it has affected her parish and ministry in Craigmillar and will shape the future.

19th September (in Greenbank Parish Church) Professor Helen Bond, is Professor of Christian Origins and New Testament, and will talk about what Jesus and the first Christians thought about faith and community, how those ideas shaped their world-view and what lessons there may be for the Church today.

26th September (in Morningside Parish Church) Very Revd Albert Bogle, former Moderator, and the Pioneer Minister of Sanctuary First, an online worshipping community, will talk about the evolution of his web-based church and community and the possibilities for the future.  Watch the live stream of the event here.
